The club can confirm that the Steels Reserves fixture on Saturday 9th October at Wakefield AFC has been postponed, with a new date TBC.
Richard Holmshaw’s Steels Reserves have had their request to postpone Saturday’s fixture approved by the league. This was made possible by the use of the team’s ‘wildcard’.
All clubs in the division have an opportunity to, once a season and with at least 72 hours notice, postpone a single fixture without sanction from the FA, this is a new rule known as the ‘wildcard’. Teams can use their wildcard for any reason, especially if the side feel they will not be able to produce a squad with sufficient players on matchday.
The two clubs will rearrange a suitable date for the match to be played, and this will be announced in due course.
