Stocksbridge Park Steels have completed the signing of Sheffield FC captain Lee Cooksey.
The 32-year-old defender made his name with Sheffield FC as a young player. After a couple of years working in Australia, he returned to England and would play for Belper Town and Rainworth Miners Welfare before returning to Sheffield in 2018. where he would serve as their club captain.
Following Cooksey’s move from North Derbyshire to South Yorkshire, he now becomes Ian Richards’ third signing since he became the manager of Stocksbridge, joining Kurtis Turner and Jack Tinker. We may see him make his first appearance for the Steels in today’s match against Marske United.
