Steels Jekyll and Hyde form continued tonight with Leek putting 6 past us to condemn Stocksbridge to another heavy defeat. Things had started well with Steels taking the lead in the 8th minute through Luke Manghams 4th goal of the season. However the lead wouldn’t last as Leek drew level on the 11th minute. Leek took the lead on 22 minutes. The game was still anyone’s up till the a crazy few minutes either side of half time.
Ross Goodwin picked up a yellow card in the 42nd minute and got a second just over a minute later to see Stocksbridge down to 10 men going into half time. However things would go from bad to worse just after half time when Michael Trench was given a straight red for what the referee deemed a dangerous tackle to reduce Steels to 9 men. The numbers game would prove too much as Leek extended their lead on 51 minutes and it was 4 soon after. Steels were now in damage limitation mode as Leek continued to press for more goals. A 5th goal would soon come on 61 minutes.
However Steels did pull a goal back through Scott Ruthven on 76 minutes. Leek got a 6th goal on 90 minutes to make it another trip to forget for the Steels. However the bad news on top of injuries we now have suspensions to make a impossible job even hard for manager for Chris Hilton.
