Ian Richards - Manager
He began his career with Blackburn Rovers but failed to make the first team and moved on to Halifax Town, where he made 24 Football League appearances. He went on to play for non-league teams Belper Town and Stocksbridge Park Steels where he played along side Jamie Vardy & was part of the promotion winning team. He went onto manager Penistone Church F.C. for 12 years taking them from local football to NCEL big hitters, winning trophies along the way. Away from football he is the Assistant Principal at Penistone Grammar School. Appointed Stocksbridge manager in September 2021

Andy Ring - Assistant Manager
Andy Ring is a Stocksbridge Steels FC legend. He joined Penistone Church after 11 successful years at Stocksbridge, making 330 appearances, scoring 110 goals in the process. Since 2014 he became Church’s record goalscorer with 84 goals in 194 appearances for them. He followed new manager Ian Richards back to Stocksbridge where he took over as new 1st team coach.

Gary Ward is the clubs long serving kit manager, having first took up the post under Wayne Biggins. Gary has played disability football for Sheffield FC, Derek Dooley, Sheffield Wednesday, Sherwood Colliery. Now plays for City Knights

Ed Hall
Hall is Stocksbridge’s number one goalkeeper. He has struggled with injuries recently but after putting those problems behind him, he’s looking forward to showing why he is one of the top rated keepers in the Northern Premier League Division One.

Liam McFayden
Club captain who makes his return to Stocksbridge after last season’s sabbatical. A very familiar sight at the Eco Power Environmental Stadium who fans can’t wait to see back in action.
Norfolk Arms
Reece Fielding
The 22-year-old centre back came through the Doncaster Rovers academy and made his debut as a 17-year-old in the Checkatrade Trophy. After a stint with Ossett United, he is now a regular for the Steels.

Jordan Lemon
Lemon is a right-back who has been featured in Team of the Years before. He signed for the Steels at the end of 2018 from Matlock Town and has been a regular in the first team ever since.

Michael Trench
Left-back Trench came to Stocksbridge as a winner after winning the NCEL Premier Division title with Worksop Town. He’ll be hoping to keep that winning feeling going into this season with the Steels.

Ludlam is a versatile defender who can play across the defence and also in midfield. Wherever he plays, he adds plenty of chemistry to the team and will want more time on the pitch this season.

Summer 2021 signing, after being released by Doncaster, he spent last season with Toolstation Northern Counties East Division One side Rossington Main, where he made 10 appearances.

Midfielders

Ross Goodwin
Goodwin is coming into his third season with Stocksbridge after signing for us in 2019, though hopefully this will be a season he gets to complete. The central midfielder is known for his tough tackling.

Josh Nodder
Nodder is an exciting winger with a penchant for scoring screamers at this level. He came through the Rotherham United academy but has been a familiar sight in the local non-league scene having played for Maltby Main and Handsworth before going to Stocksbridge.

Finlaw joined last season from Staveley Miners Welfare but only made one appearance before the season was ended prematurely. The central midfielder was highly regarded in Staveley and will be showing why at the Eco Power Environmental Stadium this season.

Crofts is a familiar face to Stocksbridge fans as he was on loan at the Steels from Sheffield United in 2016. Since the last time the winger was at the Eco Power Environmental Stadium, he has gone through college in America and was drafted by MLS side Toronto FC

Declan Slater
A young player who has played in Sweden, yet to establish himself in the first team and spent a period at loan at Worsoborough. Really impressed during pre-season and looking to make an impact in 2021/22

Toby Kenyon (out on loan)
Kenyon signed for Stocksbridge last summer after being part of the Sheffield Wednesday U18s team that achieved the double. The central midfielder will be looking to become a regular in the first team this season.

Kurtis Turner re-signed for Steels as Ian Richard's first new signing, the ex Barnsley midfielder had enjoyed a brief spell at local rivals Penistone Church.

Forwards

Luke Mangham
Mangham had been one of manager Chris Hilton’s most coveted targets when he signed for them in 2017. He has shown why he was so coveted ever since by scoring regularly when used as a striker.

Lumsden returned to Stocksbridge last season and despite some injury issues, he showed to the fans he’s one of the most prolific strikers at this level. He’ll be hoping for an injury free and goal full season this year.
