Here is a statement from our chairman on behalf of our club regarding the festive fixtures on Boxing Day and on New Years Day:
After weeks of uncertainty regarding December fixtures the Northern Premier League announced at the end of last week that fixtures from the19th and up to new years day would be optional for clubs to play with both sides having to agree.
Our opponents for the 19th and New Years day both declined the option, due to the original Christmas arrangements regarding family gatherings we had agreed with our opposition to play the game on the 28th rather than Boxing Day, but after further consultation we have decided it wouldn’t be feasible to just play the one game over this period and then have another period of inactivity. Also due to Covid restrictions, away supporters wouldn’t be able to travel, hopefully, we will be back playing mid January.
