Chairmans Hebburn Notes

Good afternoon and welcome to our visitors Hebburn Town FC, we hope you enjoy our facilities at the Eco-Power Stadium.

The announcement of Ed Halls departure caused quite a stir on Sunday evening with supporters voicing their shock and disappointment, Eds decision wasn’t made lightly, and he spoke to both Ian and myself last week, and whilst he acknowledged his appreciation for the way the club stood by him and supported him when he was out with his injury, he  felt that the financial offer, and with the reduced travelling time, the move would provide him was too good to turn down, we had to play without Ed for well over a season when he was injured and this gave young Manchester United keeper Jacob Carney the opportunity to gain valuable experience and earn a move to Sunderland . Ed has been a credit to himself and the club in his time here and although we are disappointed we respect his decision and wish him well for the future.

Rob Ludlam and Liam Macfadyen have also gone out on loan ,this made sense so that they could get game time rather than be on the bench , both are still registered with the club and can be recalled when needed, Liam the club captain and his attitude and commitment has been superb whilst out of the side .

It is a fact of life in football that players move between clubs and we must not forget the six exciting young players that have joined us since Ian was appointed, a good mix of experience and youth, that has stood out in our performances since Christmas, with our last home game being the perfect example ,when everybody had to defend for long periods, but then had the energy and attitude to go forward and score the winner in the last minute let’s hope today’s game is just as entertaining.

We recently launched our new Members Club scheme, which includes a monthly draw, for just £60 for the year. which gives you five numbers and entry into the monthly draw, along with other benefits  and discounts throughout the club ,if you are interested please see either Roger or myself, all proceeds go towards the running of the club

Thank you for your support enjoy the game and have a safe journey home.
