Ben Nicholson | Head of Academy
Ben holds the UEFA A Licence, FA Advanced Youth Award. As well as a BA in Physical Education and Sports coaching and a Masters’ Degree in Strength and Conditioning. Ben has previously coached with the academies at Sheffield United, Chesterfield and Sheffield Wednesday across the previous decade, along with stints in semi-professional football with Frickley Athletic and AFC Mansfield. Ben brings multi-discipline expertise in coaching, teaching, strength & conditioning and performance analysis bringing a holistic approach to player development.
Josh Wain | Head of Recruitment & Assistant Coach
Josh has worked across all levels of grassroots, education, development and elite sport in the UK, Europe and Internationally. During these experiences he gained his FA Level 1 & 2 in Football and Futsal, UEFA B License AfPE Level 3, S&C Level 2 and is currently completing the UEFA A License all of which have helped him to discover and implement various coaching methods. His previous club was Chesterfield FC and alongside his work at NEFA he also works in part-time role as an Academy age group coach at Sheffield United FC.
Ethan Peckett
Ethan is a graduate of NEFA, who captained the U19’s team for two seasons before starting his coaching journey with NEFA. This experience gives him a unique view that can contribute to the development of the NEFA team and all the players. He is currently working towards a BSc (Hons) in sports coaching and fitness and his FA level 2 with help of NEFA to further develop his knowledge and his impact on the NEFA team. He recently spent a week in Madrid with the Football Coach Evolution development programme where he was being developed by Raymond Verheijen. Ethan is a prime example of how NEFA help create Footballing Futures for their players.
Ryan Arch
Ryan joined us in November and currently holds a degree of Bachelor of Science in Sports Development and Coaching. He is currently working towards a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement and a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. Additionally, Ryan has gained a Level 1 Gym Instructor qualification. Since leaving university in 2014, Ryan has worked in numerous different roles within education, bringing valuable experience to his Sports Tutor role.
Jade Richards
Jade has recently joined the team at NEFA. She has joined us with 5 years of teaching experience, specialising in the Post-16 area. Jade has also completed a degree in Physical Education and School Sports, then completed a PGCE in Post-16 Education. The experience and knowledge Jade brings with her, comes from leading her own Football and Education Programme for 3 years. Additionally, Jade has also completed a QTLS with the Society of Education and Training. She is also a FA Level 1 in qualified coach in football.
