About The Academy

Stocksbridge Park Steel Academy has been launched in May 2023, after a collaboration has been formed between The North of England Football Academy & Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The vision is to create a 16-19 Full-Time Education & Football Programme that helps to develop the best young footballing talent in the South Yorkshire region. Our collaborative aim is to create footballing futures through an innovative football development programme, with a clear pathway into the non-league football.

All players on the programme will study a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching & Development, whilst training three times a week to develop their footballing ability. NEFA have been a leading programme since 2016, using evidence-based theory to develop individuals under UEFA A Licensed coaches.

​Our teams compete across 3 different leagues to provide a variety of opposition for all players. The first team compete at the highest level of youth football outside of the Academy structure, in the U19’s National League Youth Alliance and U18’s FA Youth Cup, with teams such as South Shields, Hartlepool Utd, Gateshead FC, Bradford Park Avenue and Blyth Spartans. Our second and third teams compete in the National Football Youth League and Sheffield & Hallamshire Flexi League.
